STOREHOUSE is Torn Space Theater’s third and most immersive exploration of Buffalo’s iconic grain elevators. The iconic American Warehouse at Silo City is transformed into a repository for the significant moments that mark an individual’s life.
As an installation artist my role was to conceive and construct a performative setting representing the terminus of life. Working with a choreographer and several dancers, I programmed an interactive computer-vision system that translated human movement into a synesthetic audio-visual experience.
Founded by Dan Shanahan and Melissa Meola, Torn Space Theater aims to create original, aesthetically innovative performances; to introduce internationally-renowned, contemporary drama to Western New York; and to cultivate the collaboration of actors, composers, sculptors, video artists and designers within their productions.
